A living watch-making legend of today, F.P. Journe and his amazing creations are amongst the most coveted and desired watches of serious watch-collectors around the world. In 1989, Journe established his manufacture in Switzerland, vowing to adhere to his personal work standards of inventing and making his own movements and watches.
In 1999, he introduced his Tourbillon Souverain in Basel, and was immediately hailed a complications master, as this was the only tourbillon wristwatch with a constant force device. This is a mechanism that was invented and made by Journe himself, providing unique timekeeping performances for this tourbillon which is still the most accurate on the market today.
In 2005, Journe introduced an even more amazing Tourbillon Souverain; the Tourbillon Sourverain à remontoir d.égalité avec seconde morte. This particular version offers the remontoir (or constant force device system) in an independent seconds system, which provides even more accurate read-off time.
Exclusively available at Sincere’s Haute Horlogerie Boutique, it is now available in a limited edition of 15 pieces that feature an exceptional black mother-of-pearl dial that literally shimmers and provides the perfect backdrop for such an amazing complication.
Encased in a 40mm platinum case, the dial features the distinctive identity of the F.P. Journe chronometers and guilloche silver hour, minute and seconds circles screwed to the watch face – a patented feature. The 42-hour power reserve indication at the 12 o clock position perfectly counter-balances the independent seconds display at the 6 o clock position. And as with all masterpieces, the inner workings are made visible to its wearer via the transparent sapphire crystal caseback.
