This manufacture has a fascinating starting point; its unique history is the foundation upon which its spectacular timepieces have been created.
In 1822, Edouard Bovet of Fleurier, Switzerland, set up a watch trading post in Canton, China, where he enjoyed great success, thanks to his richly-decorated pocket watches. He also sold watches with pearly and miniature enamel paintings that captivated and enthralled his Chinese market.
Being the very first pioneer to reveal the engraved movements through transparent casebacks, he has allowed wearers to appreciate and admire the level of complexity that went into creating a watch.
Unique to the Bovet timepieces is the fact that they are basically pocket watches adapted to the wrist; thus providing the perfect showcase for the traditional forms of decoration inherent to Swiss watchmaking.
This is especially evident in the characteristic engraving on the actual case and other touches such as Fleurisanne engraving - a positive engraving typical of Fleurier where the motifs appear in relief and are enriched with pearls, of which some are enriched with pearls.
It is therefore no surprise that only a handful of watches are created at the manufacture, available for to connoisseurs to appreciate at only very select locations in the world, one of which is Sincere Watch’s Haute Horlogerie Boutique.
Introducing the Bovet Perpetual Calendar Retrograde GM – a piece unique. This 42mm white gold masterpiece showcases the beautiful Fleurisanne engraving on the side of the case, as well as on the bow of the watch, and complimenting a shimmering black mother-of-pearl dial. Exceptional in looks and execution, the Bovet Perpetual Calendar Retrograde GMT is certainly a timepiece that collectors will covet unabashedly.
