Launch of Christophe Claret's Kantharos In Singapore

Sincere Fine Watches celebrated the exclusive world premiere of the Kantharos, Christophe Claret’s latest innovative masterpiece, with an intimate dinner for their elite customers at Restaurant Andre on 22nd May.

Arriving straight from its unveiling at Baselworld 2013, the Kantharos had never been showcased to the public before its launch in Singapore. Mr. Christophe Claret, founder of the brand and watchmaker extraordinaire, flew in specially to present the timepiece to the who’s who of watch collectors in Singapore. Mrs. Pollyanna Chu, Chairman of Sincere Watch Ltd, and Mr. Kingston Chu, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Sincere Watch Ltd, also made a rare appearance from Hong Kong to meet with the guests.

Over 20 of Sincere’s finest customers were invited to the exclusive dinner. Amongst the group of watch collectors and enthusiasts were Mr. Chew Choon Seng, Mr. Didi Kurniawan, Mr. Kevin Tan and Mr. Vincent Ang.

The elegant dinner reception kicked off with a showcase of Christophe Claret’s mechanical masterworks that included iconic pieces from his three distinct product lines:

  1. Adagio and Soprano from The Traditional Complications line (featuring high complications that are classic and traditional in design),
  2. DualTow and X-Trem-1 from The Extreme line (featuring bold, cutting-edge and avantgarde high complications) and,
  3. 21 Blackjack and Baccara from The Interactive Casino line (featuring interactive and playful high complications).

Leading the illustrious line-up was this year’s star piece, the Kantharos, which was housed in a specially-designed showcase that allowed the guests an up-close-and-personal view of its cutting-edge technical details.

Mr. Claret, together with the company’s CEO, Mr. Stefan Feltgen, and the CEO of Sincere Fine Watches, Mr. Ong Ban, ensured that Sincere’s guests were well taken care of by personally introducing the seven collections on display to them.

Following the guided tour of the collections, guests were ushered to the second floor of the restaurant where an elegant dinner setting awaited them. To mark this milestone occasion, Sincere had commissioned the award-winning chef, Andre Chiang, whose restaurant had recently been ranked 5th in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2013, to create a special menu for the evening. The scrumptious eight course dinner included Chef Andre’s signature culinary creations such as his warm foie gras jelly with olive oil, fleur de sel and black truffle coulis.

During the evening, Mr Claret invited guests to experience the spirit of Christophe Claret and its collection through a stylistic video presentation of Katharos that he had personally produced for its launch in Baselworld 2013. Mr. Claret’s enthusiasm for watchmaking and developing masterpieces for his company was felt by all in the room as he gave an impassioned speech about the creation of the Kantharos and his inspirations behind its design, its features and its engineering.

After which, guests had the chance to feel and admire the timepieces as they were brought to the dining area. Many were fascinated with the interactive aspect of the gaming watches, the bold horological mastery of the extreme watches and the innovative striking mechanisms, particularly with that of the latest Kantharos.

As the exclusive retailer of Christophe Claret in Singapore and Malaysia, Sincere Fine Watches was honored to be given the opportunity to present the world-premiere of Kantharos to the Singapore ‘who’s who’ of the watch community in Singapore, together with Mr. Christophe Claret.

The Kantharos will be retailing in selected Sincere Fine Watches boutiques from November 2013. It retails at $148,994.
