Blancpain unveils its 2014 Collection with an intimate Art De Vivre dinner at the heritage Mount Pleasant Black and White Mansion
On Thursday, 29th May, Blancpain, the world’s oldest watch brand, pays tribute to the craftsmanship of its latest Basel 2014 collection with an exclusive dining experience with friends of the brand, watch aficionados and selected VIPs of Sincere Fine Watch. Exclusive dinner with starred Chef Julien Lavigne marries the appreciation of craftsmanship between haute cuisine and the art of watchmaking.
In a marriage of innovation and art, Blancpain presented for the first time in Asia, its latest collection from the coveted Basel World 2014. Finding their way to a heritage black and white mansion along Mount Pleasant Drive, the guests found themselves entering a world of unlike any other. The sights of stag horn chandelier, avant-garde art pieces, housed in an ambience of a rustic, yet familiar aura of a Swiss Manufacture, blends in perfect unison to create the perfect venue to showcase Blancpain’s masterpiece collection.
Mr. Marc Junod, Blancpain Vice President & Head of Sales, Mr. Jalil Elkouch-Bordier, Blancpain Brand Manager South East Asia and Mr Ong Ban, CEO of Sincere Fine Watch, were in attendance, warming up to the guests over cocktail before ushering them into the highlight of the evening.
As part of Blancpain’s Art De Vivre dinner series, celebrity chef, Julien Lavigne was specially flown in for the evening. Tapping into his extensive experience as a close collaborator with culinary wunderkinds, the Pourcel Brothers, guests were treated with gourmet creations that hold high standards only comparable to the finest form of watchmaking.
Merging the art of fine dining and horology, guests were treated to exquisite culinary creations by Chef Julien as Blancpain’s latest creations were formally introduced. A showcase the intertwined values, it was a demonstration of the pursuit of excellence, passionate enthusiasm, expertise, sureness of touch and meticulous craftwork that is commonly shared between Blancpain and the world of gourmet food.
The dinner reconnects friends of the brand to Blancpain’s know-how in watchmaking through the showcase of its expertise in grand complication, enamel art, and marquetry art. Being the most prolific Manufacture that is able to produce an impressive 34 new calibre in 9 years, Mr Marc Junod also took this opportunity to introduce three new calibres launched in Basel World 2014, which are encased in the new Villeret Perpetual Calendar 8 days, Villeret Tourbillon 12 days, and the Villeret Carrousel Moonphase 8 days, all complete with grand feu enamel dial.
